It’s time we share the breakdown and celebrate a website launch from January! Capitol City Gym is a recreational and competition gymnastics gym in Columbus, Ohio which is the hometown of Victoria and the current place of residence for Kelly!
This project was Kelly’s baby. By the time we were contracted to build Capitol City Gymnastics a new, custom website, she had already spent numerous hours in the Cap City bleachers, watching her child take gymnastics classes.
“From day one, I’ve had a great rapport with Matt, the gym owner. So after my kid had been in classes there for nearly a year, I went up to Matt and said, ‘This place is awesome. We absolutely love it here. But,” I laughed, “your website stinks.” Self-aware, Matt immediately agreed that it was outdated in a lot of ways and needed to be brought into the 21st century.
We knew that the photos and information were outdated. Since Kelly already knew the brand from an inside perspective, she had all kinds of ideas on they’d need. Once we got behind the scenes of their old website, we were surprised to discover that many of the tools, coding, and inner workings of the site were so old, that they didn’t even work anymore. No wonder the site had been so glitchy and slow! We also learned that their SEO situation needed a major boost. This is where Victoria came in. Curating a design that screamed the CCG brand, incorporating their signature lava red and rich electric blue.
We rolled up our sleeves and set to work.

- Organized FAQ page with collapsible sections
- An 6-message email funnel, triggered by a “free lesson” lead magnet
- A digital experience that reflects the gym’s values of family, hard work, mental and physical health, fun, safety, and skill progression.
We have witnessed firsthand what a special place this gymnastics community is. Which made designing, writing, and building their website was both personal and meaningful.
The success of the project is in the numbers…
We are excited about the fresh leads and increase in traffic it has generated. This includes +10,975% in site traffic, + 8,835% in page views, and +58% in conversion! This growth is one of our most cherished and we are excited to see it keep going!
