Based in Tiffin, Ohio, Ben and Kassie Bodart are small business creatives who provide photography and videography for weddings and small businesses. As they build their clients’ confidence and curate galleries of memorable imagery, they pour their passion and creativity into others’ seasons of growth.
When the time came for these two to experience their own season of growth, they called upon us to help. Kassie, who owned k.bodart photography, contacted us about a refresh of her website. Nothing more. However, upon reading Kassie’s responses to our onboarding questionnaire, we discovered that Kassie’s current online presence didn’t align with her big goals, and Ben’s online presence didn’t align with his, either! They often work in tandem, so our wheels were turning: could this branding and website project lift both of them up, as a team?
Before diving into the design and copy, we strategized. Through Zoom, email, and texts, we discussed the future of their companies and the best way to tackle their goals together.
Ben specializes in corporate videography. Combined with Kassie’s photography skills, the two often join forces to give clients the best experience, whether it’s for a high-impact corporation or for a dream wedding. Ben and Kassie share a deep love for travel and adventure, and have always aspired to make a life for themselves on the edge of a lake. They are such a dynamic duo, and we were excited to help them combine their offers into one cohesive brand!
It was time to get to work for these small business creatives.
Kassie and Ben’s last name is Bodart, and their LLC is Venada Creative. “Venada” has a special meaning, tied to Kassie’s indigenous Alaskan roots. Building off their rugged, adventurous spirit was important. Thus, “The Bodarts” was born, under their LLC, Venada Creative.
To build their calming and outgoing color palette, we combined beautiful Alaskan hues and lake-inspired colors. The combination we chose perfectly contrasts Kassie’s light and airy photography style and Ben’s love for technology and dark tones.
In the world of typography, we found the perfect pairings. With a brand name, colors, and typography in place, we created a brand identity guide that includes:
- Tagline and brand mission
- Brand story
- Brand inspiration
- Logo variations and their use
- Social share images
- Personalized collateral design
- Typography and color hierarchy
- Website and social media examples

Once the brand was built, it was time to implement it in our favorite way: through curated website design and copy that converts.
We designed their website, wrote copy, and optimized their SEO to attract ADVENTUROUS couples and companies.
These two aren’t just willing to hike a mountain or wade waist-deep in a creek to get the perfect shot; they’d prefer it! We made sure we showcased that throughout the site.

Additionally, we met up in the winter and rented the Amita Studio in Gahanna, Ohio for some fresh branded content with Kassie and Ben together.
It was such a fun project, especially for our Creative Director, Victoria, who was a wedding photographer herself for 13 years before making the switch from digital photography to digital marketing and design.
